not sure why the fire tv stick craps out on the guide... the xml file is only 10-15 megs larger...
things u can try...
1 go to settings>TV>guide and set it to 1 day.
2 enable "do not cache guide locally"
3.. use a virgin copy of kodi. not some mod that is preloaded with a hundred addons.
i have set up both fire tv sticks and boxes, i dont have issues with them..

4. install a home button launcher and set it to launch kodi.. like fired tv launcher..... then go into settings and log out of your amazon account.. this wil unload the amazon apps.. youll still be conencted to wifi though and pressing home will launch kodi.

I don't have a fire tv but I have a nexus player with 1g ram and it crashes on the live tv guide everytime due to ram
There are a few things you could try doing to help your issue of crashing on guide:
- Use Channel Manager to hide the channels you don't require

- In Kodi tv>guide settings change Days to Display to 1 day instead of 3

- Before launching Kodi, on your actual device clear Kodi cache in settings>apps. Be careful doing this though as firstly you might clear Kodi data instead of Kodi cache in error & secondly you don't want to be doing that multiple times per day as this may result in you getting temporarily locked out by the ninja server due to hitting it up too often

- If you have the maintenace tool program addon installed, as soon as you launch Kodi & the channels start loading open the maintenance tool & clear cache & purge packets from there. If you have a shortcut to the tool under programs you'll have plenty of time to do this

- If you already have an advanced settings.xml file & feel confident enough to edit/modify it, enter <imageres>540</imageres> <fanartres>720</fanartres> If you're not confident doing this you can use the Easy Advanced Settings Addon to do that, but you'd need to research a bit & not blindly install it & start making changes, although any changes you do make can easily be reversed. You should only use the addon if you don't already have an advanced settings.xml file & if you do you'd have to delete it before using the addon

- Use Alucard's Template Loader if you feel confident enough to carry out the required steps: http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?8634-Kodi-PVR-Channel-Template-Loader

- Uninstall/disable any addons that you don't need from your device & also from Kodi

the reduced "fanart" res is a great idea, I had not thought of that even though I have used it years ago with the rpi.
but stick to what eureka says in bold and research it first; the kodi wiki has a page explaining these settings and it might be a good place to start.

the fire tv does not reserve 1gb of memory for the gfx, where do you have that info from?

its the other way around. firestick allocates 512 MB to gfx take a look in kodi system info, that is why firestick struggles with the guide.
a fire tv will show 2GB as total memory in kodi and cpu-z (and I have more than 1.4GB free)
a fire stick will show 494MB as total memory in kodi and cpu-.z although it really has 1GB.

You're right. I meant to say it like how you did. (Not 1gb shared) whereas the fire stick is shared with gpu
512mb (75% used when running Kodi) isn't enough compared to a full 2gb (25% used when running Kodi) in the fire tv.

Steps 1, 2, 3 (although I do have my own useful 80 addons :D), and 4 (FireStarter) is already done prior to the guide. I'll just use the Channel feature instead. It's about the same as the guide, just less colorful but less lag.

Will continue testing with channel hiding. Tried clearing cache but same results. Kodi maintenance program is installed and Easy Advanced Settings addon is not needed because it's already in the Maintenance package (Tuxen XML - Create/Edit Advanced Settings)
Changes I did for best settings/no lag for the fire stick are:
buffermode - 0
cachemembuffersize - 104857600 (kodi uses 3x the amount so with 512mb of ram = 320mb is only used) - reducing crashes
clienturltimeout - 45
readbufferfactor - 20
usempeg2codec - 0
mediacodec acceleration in kodi settings set to off

80 addons... and u wonder why your having issues.. guess that explains why i have no issues whatsoever when using a virgin install of kodi along with pvr.stalker, genesis, and phoenix on a fire tv stick.

does kodi still give you problems if you dont use the xml version of the guide and instead use the server provided version... its really shouldnt be crashing the way it does..

80 addons.. holy I dont know what to say.. how many do you need to get all sources for movies and tv? 1 or 2 and then a few others for other stuff.
I wouldn't know what to do with 10 addons lol.. the rest is really unnecessary as they almost bound to overlap each others functions/sites/sources unless you have some very exotic wishes that I can't come up with. fresh install should do wonders. :)

firestarter could be an issue to I dont know if it kills the original fireos interface or if its still running in the background, its something to try troubleshooting too.

no, it shouldn't. but I seen it happen many times, a clear data sometimes gets it loaded or a reboot. reading this thread apparently it does so to on other android devices with 1GB memory (I don't know how the box mentioned uses its ram). you can not see it drain the memory while loading the guide either, the log is cut of to and a kodi throws a mem dump, its odd but certainly seems to have something todo with ram.
I haven't tried in debug mode. i'll try when I get the chance.

I have Kodi 15.2 on a Win 10 box. I have tried NFPS1 and 2 clearing data and restarting Kodi and there is no difference in the guides. My EPG remote URL is hxxps://papiao.is/main/EPG/mac/00:1A:78:XX:XX:XX/donation/XXXXXXXXX/fname/NFPSF1. Is there any way to get an xml file for each time zone. Like the 4 listed above would become Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific. Or could someone with the knowledge write a guide to correct time zone issues.

My guide for Eastern Time Zone started being off by an hour several weeks back. Once I changed to NFPSF2 AND added the time zone of 'America/Toronto', cleared the databse and restarted Kodi, the guide is now accurate for the most part.

Have you tried using the latest pvr stalker NFPS that you don't enter anything other than your mad to see if that sorts you out yet?

files look ok.. you may jsut be temp banned for conencting too many times... clear your database and close your client for an hour and it should come back or pm me your IP.

as expatter said... try the latest version of pvr.stalker.nfps... install it, set it up, and clear your database and it should get u going.. if not rigth away it may take an hour to populate..

EPG for Hallmark Movie (& Mystery) Channel is actually getting a guide for the original Hallmark Channel. Can this be corrected?
...fixed.

I was away for the weekend and I had changed something Friday and didn't have time to test it.
it broke the ppv script which in turn broke the dummy channels.
its all been fixed.
they added WWE at channel 157
they add some Puerto Rico channels also in the 77xx's
epg added for them also
when I added the new channels I missed 8102 nbc new York.it will get epg when the grabber autoruns tonight, wasnt running it manually again to update 1 channel.
