it loads half of the time for me, sometimes it loads fine and sometimes I get NO EPG at all on any channel, not sure what is the issue, sometimes i have to disable/enable tv like 5 times for it to load or restart kodi several times :(

well, apun.. every time you load kodi, it uses your local database to populate the EPG, then loads the url to append new content ( it does not overwrite old content)... unlesss your clearing your database and hammering the site with multiple hits a day and getting blocked (BIG red letters in the OP asking to set regrab to once a day), it sounds like your having an issue with kodi itself, try a different skin.

I changed the grab time to 1 day now, I probably got blocked, will check tomorrow, because with is.gd it always worked on same skin. tnx

BTW where Can I request EPG to be added for the new Indian/Pakistani channels, is this thread it ? if so, please add EPG for them as there is a lot of demand which was the reason those channels got added. tnx

Much like apun, the epg has started playing up again for me. I have tried disabling/re-enabling tv and had a good try at clearing all the cache and database quite a number of times, as well are restarting kodi. Seems to work at random times. So far tonight, no joy :( Will try another skin later if you think that might do the trick.

Perhaps the database is just being hammered by people like me trying to get it work :p. Apologies if this is the case.

edit: I can't seem to find the update interval settings menu. Mine just says 'guide' instead of EPG with the only option to clear database. On Kodi 15.2

This is really odd as everything works fine on my phone, no issues. Guide imports every time

Sometimes everything just completely derps out on OpenELEC and I have to restart Kodi which often mean re-importing the guide and most of the time it fails.

The channels load fine but when importing the guide it says "Importing guide from Clients" and stays on "France 10" for a good 30 - 40 seconds before the status bar shoots across as if it has completed, yet no channel listings are present.

I've tried a new skin but no joy

Sometimes, I get lucky and it works just fine but I spent a good 1.5 hours last night doing the usual clearing cache and data, disabling/re-enabling TV and even removed IPTV and PVR Simple Client as a last ditch effort. Ended up just going to bed in the end

Is anyone experiencing this? It's rather frustrating to say the least

All my settings are configured as they should be, as far as I know

P.S Sorry about the multiple posts recently

My first suggestion would be to disable live tv, then down to 'guide' & make sure that 'hide no information labels' is unchecked/disabled/off, then clear guide data, then back into live tv & clear data & finally enable live tv.

Damn, that worked! I hope it lasts. Cheers :)

I always cleared tv data before guide data so maybe clearing guide first did the trick. I'll let you know how it goes

thanks again!

Ahh.. this may be an issue we have encountered.. blackbear noticed that the linux version of kodi craps the bed on the EPG import sometimes... seems to be due to the length of the program descriptions.. he already has a fix for the issue too, but it means the descriptions will be cut down to the first sentance.. let me know if your still having the issue and We will put up some alternative links for you to try out.

reduced grab to a 1 day (plus a lil bit so your epg never looks blank when set on a 24 hour refresh).. there really is no point to doing a larger grab if kodi cant record or set timers.

should load a bit faster now.

psycon,new script is done.
includes fix for description to long.changed it to only remove whats needed so program description can be upto abt 900 characters.
added movie description and cover art for ppv in 5xx.
added epg for porn 480-498
dummy channels added
so whenever u wanna switch it over its ready.
works fine on my linux

Just had another go starting the EPG from scratch. Unfortunately still experiencing the same issue.
Really appreciate the fact you guys are actively looking into this :) Would be interesting if it's because of the Linux OS.

pretty much gurantee that's the problem.
when I was testing the new script I didn't have the decription length fix implemented and no way would it load on my Linux box.
soon as I added it it loaded fine.
if you want, try one of my files here
Code:
http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?6243-Kodi-NFPSE-xml
it they load that's the problem, they have the fix implemented.

Works without a hitch every time! Putting all my money on the fact it's a Linux issue

Had no idea I could manually add .Xml files locally, which is brilliant news as I can just use these for the meantime

Great work Blackbear and thank you Psycon for your help. This has been the most helpful forum I've ever used in all honesty :)

How long does the local .xml epg last before it needs to be updated?
