VOD / INFO Video on demand not working

For all the VOD, beginners info, novice stuff.
It has been working off and on for a bit. The backend has been concentrating mostly on the migration. Once that is completed and stabilized, the VOD issues will get more attention. (Read the two previous posts.)
It is working for some. I have a friend with a MXQ box 4.4.2. It has 9.0.3 emu running just fine. This person unplugs it when he isn't using it. Must be some sort of scripting that contains the server links somewhere within the software. weird all of my boxes don't work with video club.
No love for me using stb emu.....iptv66.....Hopefully soon
tried a few different options here are my results
using m3u w options
working
vlc
multiple kodi playlistaddons
not working
kodi simple client pvr (remote url and local playlist)
stb emu (android based and Samsung smart tv based)
Ott Player ( Samsung Smart Tv app)
Smart Iptv( Samsung Smart App)
Xtreme Codes addon
All of above with vod not working channels load great however it doesn't like the vod
getting somewhere anyways

One person found success by changing the player in the STB.

VODs are not same as iptv channels.
first, do not use wifi if want vods
It may work fine , but is a variable.

VLC Player will kick you outta VODs in a heartbeat, but take same playlist to Potato TV or Playlist Loader or xtreams and they play fine
so what's up with vod...??...all my peeps calling about the movies....all updated server info and still they get the "server unavailable" error message...
