AS the title said, seems all usa channels work for a couple of seconds and then freeze. although audio continues to work.
The aspect ratio seems to also have changed on these channels.

I can see a post from in the announcements about a problem there with the isp, is this related?

I dont like to start new threads when there are already other people asking the same questions but, considering that the announcement post is 5 days old now it's always confusing as to whether that post is still relevant or not.

May I suggest that a mod keep that post updated maybe once or twice a day with an update, even if there is no news, that would be good enough. "As of 1pm 11/25/2015 this issue still remains"

It would probably stop a few posts like mine here...

thanks

yeah but all the english channels seem to be fine, and in the correct aspect ratio.

It seems to me like this is more an issue with the encoding on the server that is creating the streams in the usa, rather than an ISP issue, which they always seem to be having an issue with. (seems to be a blanket response)

ok so it's not just me then.
as I said, when I see a message from admin in the announcements section that is 5 days old, it's unclear whether the issue still remains or not, or if indeed this is the same issue.
Hoping good old (or young) Dara will chime in.. ;)

Here's the Reason Why Some American Channels Are Freezing
Encoding should be SD MP3 but was changed to SD MPEG 2 Audio on Saturday and others were changed to SD MPEG 2 Audio last night. Any channels that you see flagged as SD MPEG 2 AUDIO are totally unwatchable. Constant freezing, pixels are breaking up, audio is dropping out etc

All that has to be done is to revert encoding settings back to SD MP3. There is a saying "don't fix something that's not broken"

yup.
I'd love to get my hands on the server and do it properly for them.
H.264 is the best codec for streaming OTT services like this.
Or even HLS adaptive streaming could be a good idea.

Today has been fine for me. Now the last few days.... entire different story. Oh Yea.... Thanks for Fox Business! Wasn't working yet, but spotted the Icon along with Syfi! Thanks! very appreciative of the efforts! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Stay safe.

Finding channels working very well on my English speaking s elections both UK and USA.
Using mag254 , Avov fuse and Avov TvOnlinePlus, keeping it simple with units that are made for the job look like the best way to go to me.
