asft my tv says its on 1080p - 50hz but the box says 1080p - 60hz. I'm on Build 1.0.4...Putting movies / iptv services aside....Yes its still 1080p and sooo clear but just wondering why it wouldn't go to 60hz as my tv is capable of outputting this. Just doing doing this in the settings.

When I set it to 24hz you can visually see the TV go black for a short time while it is reconfigureing and it does the same when you change it back to 50hz. However, if I change from 24hz to 60hz or 50hz to 60hz it doesn't really reconfigure is just changes the setting indicator but remains at the previous setting based on what the TV says the input it is.

I should be able to set to 60hz right?

Yea, kind of strange maybe a update can correct this. You said your on 1.0.4? Is that correct, mines on 1.0.3

I think is the update 1.04 the is causing the problem I'm also on 1.04 and I'm having this problem. when i was on 1.0.3 i dint not have any problem i did a factory reset to see if i could go back to 1.0.3 and not kind do

i just post we had update but i see we had it this morning i was gone at company party like i said sent all info from everyone that had problem

Did your box work fine after update?
Don't know if I should maybe wait before updating. Mines working good now.

Actually I am experiencing some hanging for about 5 seconds but then it goes fine after that but yes there is a bug with the new software upgrade.

Box working fine since OTA update before it would keep changing state and city after update it stayed on the right city and state after update I did a hard reset I guess that's what did it. Still playing around with it to figure out the wallpaper

"IF" your tv has a native resolution of 1080p at 50hz, you will not be able to set it to 60hz as it is beyond its native resolution. You can only set resolutions below the native resolution. Go to your tv manufacturer's website and verify your make and model and check the specifications and find its native resolution. Your tv should still work with the box but try and see if you can set the AVOV box to the same as your tv native resolution, if not, I wouldn't worry about it as it should still work in spite of the slight variance in frequency,

Update: I just read AVOV has provided an update of its firmware which relates to the 50hz frequency issue.
You may want to download and update the firmware on this new AVOV TVonline4 box although I do have to wonder about the timing of this update with respect to the release date of this new box ?

The flipping from 60hz to 50hz is not a huge issue right now. I know my TV has a Samsung Clear Motion of 240hz...so it can really only display up to 120hz. But im sure the AVOV guys will sort that out in time:)

The only real issue I have now is if i turn the box off and then when i go to turn it back on it starts up at 1280 x 720 @ 60hz (proof that my tv can do 60hz haha) and I have to manually go into settings to change to 1080 every time. Slightly annoying...but i can deal

I just finished watching 2 PPV movies on Rocket last night, 10 Cloverfield and The Boss and I have to tell you that the Picture was Amazing with no hiccup what so ever not even a microfreeze so I have no idea how you can post that the Picture is bad on this box. Looked like 1080 HD to me.

"If" he is having an issue, the box has a problem or needs to be replaced, it would be rather easy to see why and how he would post it since the box he has isn't the box you're using in the physical sense.

Just to clarify a few things.........50 cycles/second relates to Europe and the frequency of its horizontal retrace lines/second
.......60 cycles/second relates to North American and most of South America
If you would like a full explanation of these differences, its easy to find as the NTSC is the standard for US & Canada and you can either go to the CRTC or any link to Canadian Television Broadcasting Standards which should have the regulations on all things pertaining to broadcasting frequencies. I bought my Panasonic Tv from Sears in Port Angeles, U.S.A and it has the same native resolution as the one I bought at Best Buy here in Canada. Both are set at 1080P and both have 1920 x1080 Native resolution at 60hz refresh rates. Hope this clarifies things a bit, if you are having problems with setting yours to its native setttings, there is something seriously wrong with whatever its connected to. Some devices are made for Europe and they have a refresh rate of 50hz and those devices were intended for use in Europe, not Canada or the United States or most of South America.

yeah i get it...i know it shouldn't be 50hz (but im guessing the AVOV team is aware...which is why I asked if it this is normal for NOW until it is fixed)

...nothing is wrong with my TV as my TVonline+ works fine at 60hz as do other devices that are connected. (it was purchased through Samsung Canada..so no its not of Eurpean standard)

I am just pointing out an issue I am facing with my TVonline 4....the same as a few others in this thread.

what i been finding out my tvonline 4 box runs kodi so much better then my other boxes and even tvonline is running smoother this is my finding im really happy with this box must say i need to get one more

OMG, the picture quality is bad. Tested all kinds of settings, the pixels is almost broken when a fast image comes around. Tried the 24 and 60Hz, no big differences. Back to my old box, hopefully fixed soon. Thanks.

I just got my box today and I see where you're referring to ...its in the display settings and its default set at 1080P 24 hz.
Go into your settings, go to display settings and change it to 1080P 60hz which you will see in the drop down list.
Be sure to do any firmware updates before you change this setting otherwise you may have to do it again after.
You can always go back into your display settings to verify it has saved the setting to 1080P 60hz
The 60 hz is simply the refresh rate which should be the same as your tv or monitor but check its native refresh rate to be sure.

I would agree as Lollipop 5.1 is a newer, faster android OS than Kitkat versions but I also noted the change in the apps which are not the same so I will have to exchange this box for another Vixo 2 box assuming I can reach somebody and get it exchanged. Any thoughts on how I go about that since they aren't returning calls and the ticket option isn't accepting any emails, tickets or anything to get it started ?

same apps as what wont be same as viox because thats a gaming box but apps will be coming and i sent them that tickets are not working

The same apps I'm referring to are not game or console related. The same apps won't be the same because some apps run on kitkat and this box is running on Lollipop 5.1 which means a different android os with a different set of apps. No telling if or when there ever will be the same apps running on both systems. Personally, I suspect no as there will be more changes to boxes, hardware, software including the OS and apps. I just did some reading on AVOV's refund and exchange policy and they don't do exchanges. They only do refunds within 30 days and they deduct 10 percent restocking fee as well as any shipping fees even though I did pay shipping fees. I don't know if I need an RMA number but I have submitted a ticket to get one just in case it is needed. They also want everything in its original packaging along with a purchase receipt even though I bought mine directly from them. Anyway, I will jump through the hoops and hope I get an RMA ticket, if not, I will ship it back registered mail and wait for a refund.
