You can't look back in time and offer the what shoulda's. You have to focus on the here and now. For me, the channels are working well. Yes, a channel goes down here and there, but for the most part the service is working well. If there is a particular instance of channel buffering or outage, report it and work from there. If you're having enormous issues, the problem, most likely, is at your end and not at the server end. Work with the service to make it better. Knocking it for the sake of knocking it ain't going to get anyone anywhere.
