and to the OP
yeah coming from a country that primarily has cable. iptv has been great for me. i have watched many interesting shows i would newer be able to without it on channels wouldn't even know of. i love the diversity channel browsing with epg (thx team) has never been this good, i can always find something besides my favorites. :)

i have no buffering and a great connection to the server, so my experience have been great so far.

to make it simple for myself: is IPTV totally free?

At this point in time I find there's no comparison between iks and iptv when it comes to picture quality and freezing. Iks is MUCH better on both accounts. Maybe its just the channels a wish to watch, but so far I have found iptv freezing typically every 15 or 20 seconds and not really watchable. i know its not my sytem, I can stream TSN etc directly in decent quality with no issues. When iks has an ecm its totally gone but otherwise there is very little freezing. And the quality of the HD channels on iks is full 1080, whereas IPTV varies from 360/480/576/720 and a bit of 1080. I don'twatch much tv really so I havent surfed around too much yet on iptv but this is what ive found so far. im seriously going to miss iks when its gone. hopefully iptv improves by that time. Just my 2 cents worth.

I must say that while the service has normally been very good for me, today is the pits, no excuses or sugar coating it's just plain awful...

I agree. Was working smooth all week here, but today it sucks. Was trying to watch wrc highlights a half hour ago and was unwatchable which makes me sad cause I love rally racing. Good thing I can watch it later when it airs again 😛

So in general whats the most likely reason for all the freezing? Are there just not enough servers, bandwidth, etc for the number of people that are trying to access them? I presume this is still a work in progress. Is there a solution to this problem? I'm assuming there are people on the development team who are reading these forums. Can anyone in the know comment on this?

It will be interesting to see if NFPS will get the IPTV stuff stable enough. Unlike IKS where you do not need a supper big Internet pipe or powerful hardware due to the packet that are being used with IKS but you do need a lot more bandwidth and computing power for IPTV for streaming. It may be also that the Stalker Middle Ware software is not up to the task for what they are trying to use it for.

I'm pretty happy with it.

I had freezing issues sometimes on iks also, so this isn't so bad. Usually what I want to watch works alright, all UK channels always work for me, and tbs history, etc. American channels usually work.

Not that it's perfect, and there isn't any freezing, but I can't complain, I'm mostly happy with it.

Also nice to get those damn dishes off the roof lol

With IKS you can record any program for viewing later. Try it with IPTV. .... Oh that is right, the option to record is turned off. Let us look at options in the audio...... not alot with IPTV (although some servers are offering dual language support on some channels) One good thing is no rain fade on IPTV unless it is really raining hard at the source and then you end up watching a clear picture of a signal loss sign. Nothing is perfect. If you want to watch TV on your tablet or PC IPTV is cool! If you want to have a big screen experience. Satellite is the way to go. By the way.... IPTV can have the plug pulled just as fast as IKS. If you turn on your set and it works .... smile.
