Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village & Museum, Moose Jaw...
The Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum has many displays of life on the Prairies including many historic buildings that have been moved from surrounding communities, set up to mimic that of a small Farming Town from the early 1900s to 1930s. The park is located south of the City of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Highway 2...
One of the Reviews : "Great museum with lots and lots to see. They say 2 hours, but it may take 3 or more hours if you really take your time and look at all the artifacts. Most buildings you can enter and get close up to the exhibits. There is a little picnic area if you want to have lunch."
The Museum IS the Village...
"The Pioneer Village & Museum
When my friend and I went on our winter road trip to Saskatoon, we visited the Western Development Museum. The museum actually has several different branches across Saskatchewan, including this one outside of Moose Jaw. The museum is an outdoor museum that shows what life was like on the prairies a hundred years ago.
The museum contains several buildings, displays and artifacts showcasing what the prairies looked like in the late 19th century and early 20th century. It even has the homestead of former (and Saskatchewan-born) Canadian Prime Minister John Diefenbaker.
The Closest Building in the Pic, is the Sukanen Ship...!
