It seems like the mc2xml doesn't work for me for "GB" for the UK pull using microsoft or microsoft legacy. (not schedule direct). Anyone else verify?

microsoft i can verify i use that bbc1 london/itv from bottom end of listed sats to scan

dara not sure if your using 2 pulls still for uk but the other zipcode i was using mine your able to also see it newcastle north east so signal will cover the total uk

I think I retained a .dat that hadn't yet expired, so it didn't pull the data. I just forced it (-f) to pull the UK set.

I know that the is.gd currently uses the schedules direct, but it doesn't pull latin america (mexico) data. It's important to have that available, even as stand-alone, just like the English guide. However, that does require the use of the donation mc2xml. I'm also working on the dummy... for some reason, it prevents loading real data on my android, but works fine on my PC. It may be the webgrab as well or just the size of the dummy.

I'll post my Latin files, getting data from dish, Total Play and sky mex. Most of the data is on Total Play, but I understand that Blackbear199 is getting most from sky mex. We need to compare the diff..

here's where I get the Spanish.these are my .ren files,u can make the .chl from them.

Hey Guys,

Quick question - does your PVR Stalker Client - update the EPG while its running i.e) if i leave it running overnight, the EPG is empty ( only downloads X number of hours ? ) and when i restart its working again. So does it actually refresh the EPG while its running ?

How to use this?

There is a small program available from webgrab that adjusts individual pulls. Webgrab is location specific, meaning the adjustments are done for your location. The values will be different say from east coast Canada to Hawaii.

Hi Guys,

New to the thread so I am seeing some discussions around running an epg grabber is it Rytec EPG Grabber you guys are messing with or something else ?

I know this thread is all over the place, but it seemed the best grabber we found to get data to match to the channels is to use mc2xml. The data used to be free using "microsoft legacy" which was "zap2it", but that feed is no longer available. We need to use either "schedules direct" using the non-donation mc2xml, or the new "microsoft" source "rovi" using the donation mc2xml. We like mc2xml, because it can change the channel name in the data so we can match it to that of the NFPS service. You probably do that with other services as well, we don't talk about those directly as they are competition. :)

The goal of the thread was to create a common epg for all users to use... we are just in a lull because our co-member psycon who hosts the common epg probably has some pressing matters.

So, to answer you question here, and the other place where you asked if you can create your own xmltv file, yes you can, but we aren't using the Rytec grabber.

anyone having problems with mc2xml with rovi?
I ran a update Friday and all was fine, today it gets my first pull ok.on the second one it just sits there and last line shows reading... and the filename include with the -I flag.
if I remove the -f flag it will get past this but shows no new data available.
if I comment out my second pull it does the same thing on the 3rd pull.
let it sit there for like 10 min and it doesn't continue.

Mine isn't working either.

hmm. was thinking of switching over to the rovi source, but seems its down.. i know we should be able to get MX data from schedules direct but have not been able to link to any on their website, seems u may only be able to with a json capable grabber..

see that the post subject changed to "...Development" - makes more sense, end users simply need to set their xmltv link to one of the is.gd linka in post 1 , the rest of this thread talks about things that end users do not have to bother themselves with.
