yes I do
Ok all I just want to point out I am not complaining, but I am complaining. I have had IKS service for years and had little to no issue with it. Other than what we are all use to. Now that rocket is shifting to IPTV the IKS service has suffered a lot. I went a head and purchased a mag and did not like it so I gave it to my son. He has used it a total of 10 min on live tv because it doesn't ever work. I got myself a VOYO mini windows pc. It rocks, kodi is great, but live tv stinks. I have done every buffering setting there is and live tv does not work. I went ahead and did some testing and found while streaming either Netflix, hulu, genesis, ice films etc. I am receiving between 1.8 Mbps to over 30 Mbps. While I am streaming rocket, nfps or 66 I am only getting 1400 Kbps when it seldom works and between 28.8-500 Kbps almost all the time. This makes the service unusable. I have tried to get network info from the MAG, but it's settings and features are limited (that's why it went to the boy).

I am on the west coast USA in Las Vegas. All channels having issues.

Is this normal?

Anyone else with the same issues?

What speeds are everyone else getting?

This defiantly seems like a server issue.

Any info or help would be great. The wife is at her wits end and she is about to junk my new toy.

I would like to refer you to all the posts of members who are very happy with the service and it's only getting better. I would also like to add there is nothing wrong with the mag 254 box, works fine for me and others, thks...

I have no problem with the Mag. It was too basic for me and I gave it to the boy. He is fine with it, just live TV issues.

I am only home after 5pm pacific time, and have read a post from Rainy I think about issues after a certain time.

I know so many people are happy with the service, and don't understand why I am not.

I have gone thru the boards and done everything over and over to improve the service, but nothing helps.

It looks to me like an issue with bandwidth from the source.

I am in IT at a major newspaper here in Las Vegas and am more than useful on a computer.

Just trying to find out other peoples issues to help my cause.

Let me put ot this way........I have timewarner internet service.....50mbps (download) .....i can play a live online game with xbox.....stream from netflix and hbo-go on another tv..all at the same time and do not have any problems....Now if I use my Avov TV-Online or Mag254.....all by themselves with nothing else connected or streaming........I will get lots of freezing at night....Tells me they have a problem at their end

Live tv is really letting me down as well.

I've got a 100 MBPS connection and it still buffers constantly.

I HOPE THAT this privatizing works fast. But I'm believing it's just bs to get your money.

Seriously ESPN from gorilla streams runs better, even first row sports runs a more stable live ESPN football game.

Stalker has a better picture but it cuts out every third play so what's the use?

OK due to the 3 day weekend I am able to mess around with this a little more. It is right after 7am here in Vegas, and everything is working kind of. I am getting almost 3.0 Mbps from the servers. It is very odd that the bandwidth keeps dropping to 0Kbps and jumps up to 3.0Mbps. The bandwidth is not stable. My network monitor looks like a bunch of hills and valleys. This is most likely the major issue with the service. Without a solid connection there is no way to maintain a constant connection to the server and those of us that are further away from the source are going to loose our connection. As I wright this the spaces between the spikes are getting larger and the service is becoming unstable/unwatchable.

If anyone could verify this info with me that would be great. On a windows machine just go to task manager and click the performance tab and click down to network. That will brink up the network monitor.

The fights are on tonight and I am not sure the system will work. I am going to keep the monitor up and see when all bandwidth starts to disappear.

On a side note, anyone know what's up with the epg? It's up it's down, works for one day then not again for a week.

I do so wish there was someone with tech knowledge, and/or someone from rocket I could talk to about these issues.

This is a pure bandwidth problem, and I wish they would fix it before adding several hundred more channels no one watches adding to more issues.

I'm running kodi 15 on a tronsmart vegas89 (not sure if that is any good or not) hard wired with a 60/10mb connection and very often (about 70%) I get buffering at time unwatchable. I'm not sure if there are any settings on my end that I need to change but I think its at the other end that lies the problem. Maybe to many users for the server? Hopefully it gets better with time. I also noticed that the epg is quite flaky. I guess thats tv testing.......

Its now about 8:30, and I am already down to less than 1mbps. The gaps in the stream are already getting larger. Buffering is getting worse. This is completely unwatchable. Can someone give me a channel that is working for them? Both history channels, Discovery, CNN, BBC news, all the same. VOD is totally worthless due to them being the only true 720p channels. If you cannot maintain at least 1mbps they wont play and with the way the network gives out data, there is no reason to bother trying to watch them. Most channels are only 1024x576. That is slightly better than 420p. I did the math and you need to receive at least 800kbps constraint to maintain picture.

Is the service working for anyone, and where are you at?

That's what I figured. It is purely a west coast problem. not enough bandwidth to go around. Looks like us sucker chumps on the west coast paid for a service that is not yet working.

Sad and unhappy are two words I would use to describe this service.

I have set up almost 25 of these for people, and I get about 10-20 calls a day about bad or not working service.

This never happened with IKS. Oh well, just going to have to wait for someone on there side to do something about it. Until then I am just going to have to stop answering the phone.

Seriously disappointed.

People, I am sure that the powers behind the server are hard at work in trying to solve their problems at the server. They, however, cannot solve network problems between them and you. If you run ADSL then remember the distance from one of the network booster points and you will dictate your speed and quality of packets. Noisy packets give freezing, the more people on the network between you and the booster will slow down and even produce noise. Your filters will sometimes produce noise and need to be changed. People with fiber or cable connections can also experience noise produced by faulty "F" connectors or poor fiber splices. Sometimes complaining to your internet provider can help, but in the case of streaming, which is in direct completion with them can have adverse consequences. So if you complain to the internet providers do not refer to the NFPS or Rocket services or IPTVStalker. Just your loss of data.

C'mon. The problem is on the IPTV provider's end, not (the majority) of the end users or their ISP.

If you want to see the instability of the IPTV stream for yourself in all its glory, pull up channel 421 (YES Network) and click the info button after the stream has been running for more than 2 minutes. You will see long periods where the stream drops to 0. That's invariably followed by the picture locking up.

Yet, I can stream from any other internet source just fine. In fact, the same channel I referenced above (YES Network) is available on Sportsdevil through frontrowsports, and it hardly ever freezes there. PQ is slightly better there as well.

I can also stream FROM my network (outbound) virtually anywhere else (and yes I do it quite frequently via Plex, Slingplayer, etc). All other streaming (even outbound) is smooth as silk on my network, and users on my Plex server (all outside my network) report that my streaming quality is great.

And FYI, my outgoing Plex is streaming at 1080p, not the crappy resolutions we're getting from this service.

This service is not ready for prime time and we should not be paying for a product that's unwatchable for long stretches of time. They should stop the clock on everyone's donations until they have all of the kinks worked out.
