Hello All,

I am new to this site and IPTV in general. Could you please help me get a handle on everything.

Here is what I posted over in the Introduce yourself thread

Hello

I'm the guy that knows just enough to be dangerous. HaHa..

Seriously, I hope to learn everything I wanted to know about IPTV here and am thanking everyone ahead of time for answering all my dumb questions.

Here's some background and some questions to get this party started.

I found IPTV by accident when I bought a new Samsung TV and was looking at the apps. There was one called Smart IPTV and I started checking into it. I was able to buy the app and add my MAC address. I then tried to create my own playlist. I then found out it was way easier to buy one. So I tried a few for 24 hours. I quickly moved on to loading it onto a firestick with a STB Emulator. I liked the look of the layout better than Smart IPTV and messed around with a few providers. Having some experience with Kodi I figured there has to be a better way. Most of my Google searches led me back here. Great info here, BTW. I think that short of buying a MAG 25x and paying for service I would am more inclined to put together something of my own. I am leaning toward the Android stick with a quad core and 2mb ram. They are relatively inexpensive and I can put the apps I want on it without the ads like on Firestick.
My goal is to have a stick I can give to friends and relatives that have never seen anything like this (the wow factor).

DONE SO FAR:

Loaded Smart IPTV and Smart STB, imputed several subscriptions

Loaded FireStick with STB Emulator and imputed several subscriptions(changed MAC)

Loaded Android box with STB Emulator and imputed several subscriptions(changed MAC)

Bought a couple of sticks (one more powerful to test how cheap I can go) I'll load them up with apps and pair a MAG like remote.

So now maybe someone could help me fill some gaps....

1. why do I need a provider at all? I have found several M3U sites that have playlists for free? They show you how to use pastebin to create your own URL for free.

2. if a playlist is just a grouping of URLs that the player can read why can't you just build one from scratch? And how to do that?

3. if I want to sell my stick and subscriptions it it illegal in anyway?

I just got my Rocket donation and plan on trying some of the playlist. What is the difference between the providers ie, iptvrocket and privateserveriptv?

Thanks

Anyone can create their own m3u Playlist, yes.

Creating a working Playlist involves notepad editor or notepad++ or Word Pad and UDF-8 encoding and .m3u file extensions (all done with one of them editors).

Below is one I created about a year ago. Just a example of a very simple one.
I did not create the movie or even the web address' that leads to any given movie or TV channel.
I just gathered together some old movie m3u channels (address') and put them together in one Playlist.
Go ahead and use the list , it will work...
I think all them movies on there are all in the clear (meaning they are not owned by anyone, because they were never registered for one reason or another).
You can make one too, thing is thou you will not find many (if any) premium channels or movies to add to your Playlist.
There are also security issues with m3u channels found thru out the web too, and for that and a few other reasons, we do not support m3u Playlists here on site.
Many online websites can show you how to's with m3u channels and Playlists.

Rocket does offer m3u Playlist which are channels not found elsewhere in your m3u searches.

Thanks !

It looks like the easier route would to be buy the rocket subscription (done) and build my own custom channel list using the VLC Player.

If I want to sell that list all I have to do is become a re-seller.
