Freezing

koolkat meant that we need to have the firmware for individual MAGs stored there so people can go back to a previous one similar to bin files stored for fta on other sites.

Bkman 2020 think the MAG 254 box itself is good it's the r11 firmware that is buggy.
 
When I first went online everything worked perfectly. Now all channels freeze. With the exception or RT. Al Jazeera and some adult Chanel's. No other boxes or programs running in the house. Just raised the internet speed level to the maximum through Cox that is available in our area. That made no difference. I m still on version 218 on software from 3/18/ 2015. When I attempt software update I m messaged url is incorrect

Did the downgrade to r10 and some of the channels like the 300 and some others freeze same with vod. The international and some Spanish channels are working well so I thing is on the server side not mine.
 
I will share my experience , many times freezing is caused by your ISPs particularly from smaller ones because if you do not own the IP address. The consequence of this is that the server needs time to decide which request to serve if they get pretty requests from the same IP address
 
Аlso you can reduce the freezing by increasing the buffer time of your box. The settings for this are located in the advanced settings, and they can be different for each portal.
 
I find that there is more and or contant freezing in the evenings for US channels, IE DIY HBO's CNN, however the Canada channels work flawless. In the AM, all is fine. Possibly server overload, but thats a guess. Will try the buffer thing tonight. Good little unit thou.
 
what do you have your buffer time set to?
You'll have to play around to either find your values ​​for different portals.
I can not give you a fixed value , because my box is not genuine software and secondly I haven't loaded NFPS portal now (waiting for paid version in the hope that there will be а quality HD channels )
