It is always hard to fathom what's going on with each situation, as I'm sure you're aware. I decided to reload the channels and guide to see if anything was obvious from my end. Nothing turned up... The channels all loaded and the guide is fully populated.
By your post, I surmise you performed Condition 2 steps 1, 4, 5 and 6...

which will usually get things back in gear. Sometimes, though, a reboot of the device addresses problematic situations. In worst case scenarios, an IPTV Reset can perform an even greater miracle.
At the moment, I'm getting quite a bit of buffering, which is seldom the case for me, so things could be in a less than stellar state. Give it a bit of time. Perform the aforementioned steps from time-to-time. Keep me apprised. Hopefully, things will straighten out. If not, we'll probe further.
Many will suggest Kodi movie add-ons will give you a wider array of movie options than will be afforded by the VOD section. I'd agree with that obsevation.

No channels have programme info on my box today. I've got a mag254 and run a paid for IPTV subscription that comes from Malta. Anybody know how I could try and fix it myself or does the guy who sells the service have to do it at his end? Thanks in advance for any replies.
On another note…does this mean stalker updater is permanently out of the picture? Will there be an update to it that solves the problem?
Mine loaded fine this morning, so I'm not sure what went on at your end. A number of things could cause the (hopefully momentary) disappearance. If yours didn't load initially, you can try reloading...
(1) TV > General: Disable TV, (2) TV > General: Clear Data, (3) TV > Guide: Clear Data, (4) TV > General: Enable TV
