NFPS / Private channel organisation

IPTV Private Server (NFPS)
If you're using the Live TV feature in Kodi you can hide unwanted channels from showing by using the Channel Manager. You can also create a channel group.

To hide go to:
System -> TV -> General
Scroll down to & choose Channel Manager
Highlight your unwanted channel
Arrow over to channel options
Click 'Active' (so as blue circle disappears)
Click 'Activate Guide' (so as blue circle disappears)
Arrow back over to highlight another unwanted channel & repeat above
When finished, arrow over to & click 'Apply Changes' (apply changes as you go in batches of 25 or 30 in case your mind wanders & you accidently exit without saving)
Click 'OK'

Then exit to System -> TV -> General
Scroll down to & click 'Use Channel Order from Backend' (so as blue circle disappears)
Click 'Use Channel Numbers from Backend' (so as blue circle disappears)

Then go to Guide & click 'Hide No Information Labels' (so as blue circle disappears)

One think I noticed is that once you enable the use channel order from back-end and you update the data, you cannot disable it. It will show disabled in Kodi but when you go to all channels, all the channels you disabled will be back.

I wrote an app that setups up my channels in Kodi. I got tired of have to redo all my channels every time I reset the database. It creates my groups, renames the channels and arranges the channels in the order I want them in just a couple of minutes.

hi eureka, I tried what you said, but I never got any channels listed in the box on the left, so there was none to choose from, I am using iptv stalker and I have ivue, I cant get I vue to show the channels. im sure ive done something wrong but im stuffed if I know what it is.
any ideas what to do.

My tool works with the Kodi tv db (using PVR Stalker) not iVue. I am working on it but got side tracked as I wanted to work with the NFPSF channel list but iVue will not load do to formatting issues. I do have the tool being able to update the channel lists for iVue which makes it easier to change the MAC.

my ivue works fine, I get the same page as I should, it updates as it should, it shows the channels as it should. but when I click on any channel to view the damn thing, .....nothing...
what do I have to do to satisfy this beast.

thanks

chaza

I created my own custom groups using group manager and deactivated the following options

1. Use Channel Order from Backend
2. Use Channel Numbers from Backend
3. Synchronize groups from the backend server

however, when I close Kodi and reopen, I loose all my custom group. any help?

Thanks,

Hi chaza,
Sorry I've only noticed your question now, but as you probably realise by now the method that I posted would only work if you were using the built-in Kodi Live Tv feature in conjunction with PVR Client - it wouldn't work with iVue Guide & IPTV Stalker Video Addon which is a completely different/separate setup altogether.
