I plan on buying an IPTV STB at the end of the month. I know this question has been asked many time, but are you planning on adding any new STBs in the near future? Not interested in emulation.

jjj if I was you I would test it now on kodi which free for now and when this service is final and stable then by that time you will see that more devices will show up which then your mission will be much easier.

I would like to try a Mag 260, I'll look for an IPTV box that has XBMC/Kodi option with little to no installation needs for both with capabilities for 4K and 3D.

I saw you post before about emulators so assume you tried it out a little. If you're buying right now the mag is what to get for one that doesn't run an emulator. There are several new mags out now so make sure to get a linux version because anything android will be running an emulator. I have no problems with my mag254, well, except the weather shows celcius in the portal but I didn't buy it to use as a thermometer.

More devices may come out later- but who knows how much later or how well they work till they've been out and tested.

Thanx guys. I keep seeing STBs that seem to be newer and faster, but I have to help a few others, so I wanted to stay simple for all.

I assume the Mag254 runs Kodi?

PS: why Linux vs Android?

Mag254 only does iptv and m3u and the emulators emulate what the mag does.

I say no android because you said you was not interested in an emulator.

Just built a 4Core Htpc with 8gig of ddr3 1600 ram. Itx asus Mobo with Radeon 8330 integrated gpu for under $130. Running Win7 ultimate running Genpix with DvbPlus and hope to integrate WMC one day. Kodi 14.2 rc..........consumes 30 watts.

If I ran Linux on my Mac via Parallels Desktop, would I be able to run your IPTV without emulation?

Mag is linux but I haven't heard of any that have taken the os to load on a pc. As for android, there is an emulator for linux but I don't know much about it. Was a spinoff of the vasilchmax for droid.

The service will run on anything mag or emulated to think it's mag right now.

they have emulator for linux its so bad right now dont even want to put it on my box ant thats from the maker need lots work so hold off

The Mag 254 is a great box. If you want apps, buy a Roku or Android box. The mag was built for IPTV. There is no bloated apps to slow it down. Understand that if you buy a Mag box, there are no "Apps". You won't be playing games on running Kodi on it, which in my opinion is a good thing. IPTV is very stable on this box. If you have movies or music on your network, it does a great job of playing those.

I had the Avov 1 and mag 254 I sold both I hated the mag 254 with a passion
Avov has better picture by far
only reason why I sold the Avov is I want the Avov vixo 2
having 6 boxes and only 2 tv's wife said a few had to go before I could make the purchase and it was the first to go unfortunately
I have to wait till some time in April to get the vixo 2
