Deep Freeze

Just now I received an Emergency Alert message on my phone.
Alberta is at risk of power outages and we must turn off all un-needed lights, stoves, block heaters, EV charging, electric heaters, and what ever else that is powered by electricity.
My car won't start today, have had the battery charger on it for a few hours ... should have left it running last night :(

And oh yea.... it's -39 C at the moment

thnx iptv
No wind at all for about a week here.
Good luck Crazed, that is cold!!!, not sure if that is including wind chill and with power going, it will be brutal.

and it's not getting any warmer today :(
Car still not starting. Brought the car battery into the house but might have a dead battery now after that freeze it went thru. The sides are not bulged out like a froozen battery normally has, but it doesn't seem to be taking a charge :(

I don't know what kinda car you drive but for your winter you should put on your car.

block heater cord $40 to 50 dollars
Battery blanket $40.oo
2amp battery maintainer $50.
use a 3 plugin adapter and 10 or 12 gauge extension cord
and start with a good battery.
It may cost a few bucks but its better then losing a few days of work because of it.

Cheaper then trudys gas burning all night while you sleep. I remember those days, putting cardboard in front of the rad for heat and scraping the inside of the windows. Not for me.

yea thnx duhhud
should have done that before the freeze but thought just leave it running on and off for a couple days,,,, but that didn't work out so good :(

What was that old proverb ?

Oh yea... When did Noah build the ark ?
answer --> Before the flood.

The battery been in the house here since yesterday.
And outside it's warmed up to -30C today so gonna try starting the car soon :)

ANd yeah realdeal, we have had a break on gas prices in Alberta because our premier Daniele Smith blocked Trudy's carbon tax on gas... BUT when the gas was dropping in price she attached that tax and it added 9 cents/liter..... and just yesterday we got another increase of almost 20 cent/liter. I think that was cause the conflicts n the Red Sea thnx to Biden bombing Yemen.
All politicians need to gather their things up and F* off
