So I've been playing around with my MAG254. Before Rocket/NFPS started their test server, I signed up for another provider.
I'll state the provider if the mod's will allow it.
I read about the test server being up and running with some VOD movies.
I setup my Mag254 and loaded up the portal.
Maybe someone can help me better understand something. Why are the movies on Rocket VOD the same as the other provider? And it's not NFPS.
Same video quality, same audio (2 ch) and same movies.
It seems like the movies that the other provider and Rocket/NFPS are using are the same????? I will say that there is less buffering on the Rocket/NFPS, but the quality still has room for a lot of improvement.
I've read multiple posts hearing that Rocket/NFPS will have HD movies. HD movies to me include minimum 5.1 Ch DD Surround.
I HOPE that Rocket's VOD service improves to the HD that we are looking for. I hope this isn't a lead into the Satellite channels that we want. The other provider has the exact same quality on their "HD" channels. Standard Definition with 2 channel audio.
I'll be all over the Rocket IPTV if it is what we want. I've told many people about this possible service and they are excited to see/hear what the can offer.
But if I was a consumer and Rocket wanted $100 a year for IPTV that is sub par, then I would steer someone to Hulu Plus or some other premium streaming service that will truly offer HD + Surround.
