It was announced at today’s UFC special news press conference event with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta, that as a result of Hector Lombard’s failed drug test, a change has been made in the promotion’s originally scheduled plans for their Welterweight division.
Lombard, who was scheduled to fight Rory MacDonald in Montreal, was pulled from the card after the news surfaced that he failed his post-fight drug test after defeating Josh Burkman at UFC 182.
As a result, it was announced that MacDonald will now challenge UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler for the 170-pound title on July 11th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
