along with the 1000s of sources that could possibly carry ransomware, we now seem to have something new on the scene. Or maybe it has been around awhile but this is the first I have seen of it.
If you open an infected email or an infected file, then it will change all your file extensions to .TRO and you will not be able to access these files or change the extensions.

If you also have a external hard-drive connected to your PC or Laptop, then any files on there will also be affected.
So keep your antivirus programs updated guys... stay save.

If you get something like this or any virus infected file, then use the website coded and shown below. That website is sponsored by Malwarebytes, which is 100% trusted

Code:
https://id-ransomware.malwarehunterteam.com/

This list is shown thru that link above, but to show the vast amount of sources that can carry Ransonware, i pasted it here.
This is from one particular 'unnamed' virus protection program.

Should we download that file and install it or what?

that is not a file. It is a webpage where you can report an infected file and then after they look at it, they may have answers to fix :)
Plus it then is also reported to 'proper sources' that can use that report to help fight these things.

The Upload tab shown there, is to 'upload' the file to them.... Download would be to you :)

I brought all this up today, because my virus protection was up for renewal, which I did :)

I used to run the 'open' version of this same protection, but it was lacking a few things... But since long time now, I do pay the bill to get their Premium version :)
