New/Clean install of Kodi 15.0 Final stable build; using PVR Stalker built in client and I have a valid subscription.

Notes:
-Im following this guide" 'Setting up IPTV Stalker and PVR Stalker for paid access'
-Im using the MAC from my sub'ed MAG254 which works fine.
-EPG is set to XML and server pointed to URL specified in stickied thread.

When I set the server to: 11.iptvprivateserver.tv kodi.log shows:

Code:
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: AddOnLog: Stalker Client: HTTPSocketRaw::Execute: failed to connect
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: AddOnLog: Stalker Client: SAPI::Init: api init failed
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: AddOnLog: Stalker Client: SData::InitAPI: failed to init api
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClient::GetChannels - addon 'Stalker Middleware:11.iptvprivateserver.tv' returned an error: server error
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClients::GetChannels - cannot get channels from client '727': server error
22:49:48 T:6032   ERROR: PVRChannelGroup - PVR::CPVRChannelGroup::Load - failed to update channels
22:49:48 T:6032   ERROR: PVRChannelGroupInternal - PVR::CPVRChannelGroupInternal::Load - failed to load channels
22:49:48 T:6032   ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRChannelGroups::Load - failed to load channels
22:49:48 T:6032 ERROR: PVRManager - PVR::CPVRManager::Process - failed to load PVR data, retrying

pinging is.gd from my PC I get an odd response along with some expected responses
Code:
> is.gd
Server:  google-public-dns-a.google.com
Address:  8.8.8.8

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    is.gd
Addresses:  2400:cb00:2048:1::681c:1d4c
          2400:cb00:2048:1::681c:1c4c
          104.28.28.76
          104.28.29.76

So I edited my hosts file to point is.gd to what seems to me like valid addresses(line 3 and line4). Restarting Kodi, kod.log now shows:
Code:
23:15:36 T:3644   ERROR: AddOnLog: Stalker Client: SData::LoadProfile: status=1 | msg=device conflict - device_id mismatch | block_msg=Your STB is damaged.<br/> Call the provider.
23:15:36 T:3644 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClient::GetChannels - addon 'Stalker Middleware:http://11.iptvprivateserver.tv' returned an error: server error
23:15:36 T:3644 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClients::GetChannels - cannot get channels from client '727': server error

'Stalker Client: SData::LoadProfile: status=1 | msg=device conflict - device_id mismatch | block_msg=Your STB is damaged.<br/> Call the provider.

While still an error; its at least more verbose...any ideas?

There may be an issue with using a MAC from a connected MAG on emulators and Kodi. The stalker middleware has the ability to receive machine id info along with the built in MAC, and the server people may have had the setting on to prevent concurrent use based on the machine id not matching. I don't know if this is the case ATM as it was supposedly turned off. If you want to try to get both running, you could force a reset of the MAC by changing the linked mac to something else, then link it back to the real mac.

Since we know your MAC does work now, you might not want to risk changing it. I'd try other methods of connecting, like IPTV Stalker or STB Emu, to see if those work. You may also increase the connection timeout as described in other threads to see if your PVR Stalker will connect at a value higher than the built in 15.

The EPG errors are not relevant if you can't load channels. is.gd is just a redirector to where the generated EPGs live in Github, and the US channels have no current data.

Now that is.gd resolves by browser to is.gd/NFPSF I get redirected to 'https://raw.githubusercontent.com/psyc0n/NFPS-EPG-Grabber/master/NFPSF.xml' which is an xml dump of what looks like EPG info.

All of the channel tags look like '<programme start="20150727091000 +0000" stop="20150727100500 +0000" channel="I101.751696.microsoft.com">'

Is this what Dara was referring to with the comment about epg being down because of 'microsoft stuff'?

Basically yes.
