I've installed the epg ninja on my fire stick and got it to work with the channels but for some reason the picture is very choppy...its not buffering but just looks choppy it's not running smoothly...does anyone know what issue can be?....thanks!

do check acceleration, it would result into freezing and buffering issue , the streams are in low quality too, also this seems to be a issue with how the streams are encoded.
You will also notice the sound volume going up and down. Hopefully we go back to HD streams.

I am having the same issue with the choppy video on a Fire Stick and turning off the hardware acceleration did not fix the problem. Any other reason why this would happen? It happens on movie channels, sports channels, seems like on every channel. I am running KODI 16.0 Jarvis. Thanks in advance.

Simple solution....go back to Kodi 15.2 until video issues are sorted out in future releases. Disabling hardware acceleration helps somewhat but the overall picture is still not clean and smooth. Not to mention you would have to re enable hardware acceleration if you were to play any video addons as you may get slow video resulting in audio sync issues.

Hope they can fix this problem. Noticed it last night on CNN (slight buffering)... Great picture on rocket with the 3 new HD channels. Keep it up rocket, and please add more HD channels.;) andkaal

From my expereince, i am guessing you are using kodi 16, revert back to 15.2 and it will solve that problem, to further solve your problem i would use stb emulator that works so much better on amazon fire sticks.

so its necessary to constantly be switching back and forth in the hardware acceleration?

To be honest I really rarely watched those channels but if I do want to watch them I'll just go to my other room where I use raspberry pi 2 instead of AFTV and all is well, no messing around with settings etc.
I just thought it would be helpful for people to be informed about the issue with AFTV hardware acceleration.

I hope they'll fix that in the future (hardware acceleration on AFTV with Kodi)
