When Penny Dreadful returns next year for its third season, it's going to have some anger issues. Showtime has revealed a few details about the third season, including which new monster it will add to its menagerie of madness.
Joining Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Grey, and a wolfman in Season 3 will be Dr. Henry Jekyll, the famously bipolar dude who could flip a switch and become the menacing Mr. Hyde. Jekyll (and presumably Hyde) will be played by Shazad Latif (The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).
Meanwhile, actress Patti LuPone (American Horror Story) will return because Penny Dreadful loved her so much. How much? LuPone, who played the Cut-Wife in Season 2, will be a series regular in Season 3 playing a different character. Whoa. LuPone will play an American therapist who treats Vanessa Ives (the fabulous Eva Green) with an "unconventional new approach." Methinks Vanessa won't mind unconventional.
Also joining the cast this year will be Dexter's Christian Carmago as a zoologist who befriends Vanessa, Sam Barnett as Carmago's secretary, Hell on Wheels' Wes Studi in a series-regular role as a Native American who has a past with Ethan, and Jessica Barden as a young acolyte of Lily and Dorian's.
