Newbie, age 73, a Brit and "thick as 2 short planks"

my title say it all - the 'planks' ref. is accurate, and an old saying up here in Lancashire.

seriously though I will be getting my first IPTV box tomorrow - a Mag254.
having spent an interesting hour or 2 browsing this forum I'm now having doubts about the Mag.

what we currently enjoy is US TV shows like Justified, Longmire etc via Kodi on our Beelink Android
and I was happy enough to consider using that and the Mag - until I read about Avov boxes on here.
the great post I read shows that Avov's can run IPTV & Kodi.

so perhaps an Avov would be ideal for me? - any comments or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

hello and welcome aboard.
What you wanna look for when choosing an IPTV dedicated box with Kodi abilities, is to check the Android Operating version, which is on the box.
It should be higher then version 5.0 ( I think)

The Mag will be a good IPTV receiver and you can still use the Beelink for the Kodi stuff.

IPTV dedicated receivers with Kodi abilities include...
Avov
Buzz
Dreamlink
Global and more are coming

and you may even have a few over there that the western hemisphere does not have yet, like the Formula Z and some others (but watch the Android Operating System version, walk away if the version is too low)

good advice, thank you both ...

that said, I've just now been researching Avov online and there are no useful reviews out there ...
a pity the likes of Tech Radar, Expertreviews etc have not had them.

I'm hoping that this website is not typical: sitejabber.com/reviews/www.avov.tv
but it matters not - I'm going to stick with my Beelink, and the Mag254 (it was recommended by my brother-in-law after all)
