Some Daytona Track Records & Stats

This race uses the modified engine 'spacers' and wheel venting system, and also a special spoiler to keep speed down First Daytona cup race not using restrictor plates!

Double Yellow Line at Daytona = do not pass: In order to emphasize the yellow-line rule at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway where passes are not permitted, NASCAR has made the single yellow line into a double-yellow line. The second yellow line was painted on the inside of the existing yellow line.

I will be at this race in person, looking forward to it, but Im gonna wait till our great countries birthday to make my picks, I need some time to find my hunch, lol, but pretty sure I know who the four drivers I will be picking, probably not anyone that anyone else will,

This ones a toss up, things can go so wrong or so good, and all be in the last 5 laps, or the first, or any other lap, lol, love it,

Bad weather caused trouble at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, as lightning forced Monster Energy NASCAR Cup qualifying to be canceled.

That will leave the starting lineup for Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400 set by owner points. Joey Logano will start on the pole, with Kyle Busch beside him on the front row. Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top five.

Only eight cars had gotten through inspection when lightning forced all activities to be put on hold Friday afternoon. NASCAR then made the decision to cancel qualifying because of time issues, given the Xfinity Series race is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Daytona.

It's not like Logano needed any extra advantage at Daytona. He finished fourth in the Daytona 500 earlier this year, and fourth at Talladega in the other superspeedway race.

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
