yes i do
Hi,

MAG424w3 with newest firmware.
Samsung Q60R QLED Smart TV
AT&T Uverse 16 Meg Pipe
Knowledgeable in setting up MAG to portal.

Cord is cut and I'm not looking back. :)
Having experienced buffer delays and stuttering from 2 past services I got with the MAG254, I upgraded to the MAG424w3 and presently I'm seeking a new iPTV service provider.

In order to transition to the MAG424.

So far I've tried the cheap 48 hour test services from eBay, results are 100% "Your STB is NOT Supported"

Communicating back and forth on eBay's messaging is clunky, at best.
So far, the 4 providers I've heard back from are rather clueless as to how to the error can be resolved.
2 of them told me to get particular software, and expect me to flash the MAG424 firmware with it, lol.

Fortunately, I'm not out any significant money.
Question posted to the infomir forum has not been answered yet.

And so, I need to get smart on why eBay providers are rejecting the awesome MAG424;
is it a Ministra vs. Stalking situation?
or, is it a "Service provider hasn't upgraded his own software" situation?

The question becomes, how can I find providers out there who know they're
compatible with the MAG424?

Any info will be most highly appreciated.

Thanks much,
Jack

'Ministra vs Stalker' is prolly the issue, yes.
The supported services here do not support the Ministra platform.
Or it could also be due to what Bkman has mentioned

You could try using a supplied m3u Playlist.
The service here does supply clients with an option to use a m3u Playlist and the Mag models will play them.
The Ministra or Stalker platforms do not come into the equation when using an m3u playlist.

If you do not have a working accountant with the service, you could try any free Playlist that can be found online
If the List loads fine and plays then the playlist from the services here will also work in the same way.

It's not the best method to use as you'd have to update the list every time there are any changes at the server (like added or removed channels or movies).
And you won't be able to use an EPG with this method either.

Thanks for the link, I'll give playlist a try.

It's difficult to understand why infomir would block iptv,
whereby doing so defeats the purpose of MAG boxes.
Seems like their stockholders would raise hell about such a policy.

Dude mags block iptv now where have u been

Hi Bkman2020,
The Torrentfreak website supports your statement and describes Infomir's blocking of iptv services, and I had no idea that
infomir would become an out-of-control "police force" prior to my purchasing the Mag424.

I have about 2 more weeks to return it to Amazon under their refund policy, which I will
do next week.

And so, I'll start from scratch with no STB and a Samsung Q60R QLED Smart TV
which seems to be capable of handing STB emulator softwares.

No wonder I couldn't find any Ministra providers, the provider community
was blindsided when Infomir pulled the plug on their customers by disallowing
iptv via firmware updates.

Advice will be appreciated, either what STB to buy, or use of a software app
within the Samsung TV.

Thanks much !!!

MAG424w3, Does anyone know how to get it the System Recovery Utility so I can change the NAND1.
Here is the page header info and link to the page with all instructions relating to your situation;

Emergency Recovering with Service button MAG420/424
Purpose of service button

The service button (FN) is designed to run STB in one of the emergency boot modes in order to recover STB functionality.

Some typical cases of FN button applying:

You have forgotten your password of Access control - use Mode 2 Reset to factory settings to reset all variables including Access control settings;
STB fails to load and you can't open System Recovery Utility menu - 1) use Mode 1 Selecting alternative NAND or 2) use Mode 3 Emergency startup and subsequent Software update from System Recovery Utility.
