Hey james88 the easiest way to get started with Kodi is to uninstall what you have on your android box then install Kodi from the PlayStore. This will give you the current stable release. Next do a search on youtube for tvaddons.ag and learn how to install their Fusion build. This build will allow you to watch movies and tv shows and to stream live channels from playlists. You should be aware that all of these kodi sources can and will change without notice. To get your 1600 channels you need to subscribe to one of the 3 services supported by this site; NFPS, Rocket and IKS66. These three offer the same channel line ups, as to which works the best I could not say I only have experience with IKS66. My experience has been mixed I have 2 subscriptions 1 on the cheapest android box I could find the other on a NUC running windows 7. The android box is slow to change streams but plays them very well with little to no buffering over a wifi connection the windows box with an ethernet connection buffers so much that I don't use it. This is due to settings that are available in the router for wifi that are not there for ethernet. Good luck.
