Hey guys I'm trying out a paid provider and also the current rocket connection. Unfortunately I'm getting real choppy TV, its almost like if I were getting low FPS.

Is this normal WITH iptv.... I've tried increasing the buffer and putting it at various rates but no success. What you guys think......

I'm running a MAG254.

Are you running wifi? I ran wifi for a few days and had good results, but when the TV was choppy one day I switched to the regular Cat5 and the choppy stopped for me. But, I must add that there are times with the Cat5 that you will get choppy channels. Mine have always been on Saturday though!

I'm running on a powerline and connected a laptop to it to do a speedtest and got 8mbps. I'm sure thats fast enough but wonder if its a dirty connection. I may switch to wifi as the router is less then 10ft away.

The choppiness is consistent with all channels. I've rebooted a few times and still nothing.

Nice to know thats not the norm

power line may be the issue. Any type of connection between source and box will be an issue, no matter how you look at it. Even WiFi up close and right there can be an issue.
Till you can connect an Ethernet cable direct and then compare the results with other connection types then you'll always be looking for other's opinions. And we don't know sqwuat cause we ain't in your home

Get yourself a cat5 cable and plug it to a netgear switch at the devices point and operate all of your devices each independently to be assigned to it's own ip at a full speed.
