EPG Ninja (May 19 - 21)

psycon said:
Update May 18.. we are still working on things, as i said for the most part we have restarted from the ground up so this will take a little bit more time.. but wee are adding some checks and balances to remove a pull when malformed data is detected so the whole guide doesnt go down..

There are still some missing channels in the current original EPG pulled from the server
i.e. no EPG for all HBO + Cinemax channels

So, here is a temporary EPG for (almost) all channels (including the foreign ones)

Valid until May 21, 2016

thanks it is much appreciated while psycon sort out the strings.

best regards

EDIT:
there is something funky going on with a few channels showing double info.
for example: discovery turbo shows a duplicate of natgeo wild, dmax shows river monsters, yesterday columbo, eden ncis.
I dont know what or if the last channels shows duplicate info, but I know they do not show these shows. heh

anyway, imo you do not need to fix this file, I can live with it.
I just wanted to notify you.

thanks again

@tuxen

thanks for noticing the issue

I've just found out that the unique ids for the channel numbering are so messed up :confused:

the number for some channels got from the iptv server are different with the one got from epg-server

e.g. for the "Discovery Turbo" channel

here is the list from the iptv server

Screen_Shot_2016_05_19_at_10_26_30_PM.png

you can see that the channel number is "190"

and here is the list from the epg server

I've searched the xmltv file and I can't find any data for the "Discovery Turbo" channel
but you can also see that the number "190" is used for the "NatGeo WILD"

that's the culprit why you see the dupe data between the "NatGeo WILD" & the "Discovery Turbo" channel

the fact is the "Discovery Turbo" channel doesn't have its own data
and it reads the "NatGeo WILD" 's data since they both have the same channel number

please wait... I will try to find any solution for this issue

@psycon

I don't know which list you used for the reference of all the channel numbers
but your epg would be perfect if you could just use the same unique number generated by the iptv server

and it'd be better if you could just use a simple unique number for all the ids

e.g. "ch-190" would be much organized than "I190.232003415.microsoft.com"

you could use "ppv-#" and "vod-#" for all ppv & vod channels

just my 2 cents

the channel numbers in the XML mean nothing, they are the original channel numbers from dish/sky/dtv.. The pvr.stalker clients links channels by a matching channel name, pvr.iptvimple can match by name or by channel id (if id is set in the m3u)

EPG will be fixed soon,not to worry, we are redoing everything from scratch for the most part which is why its taking a bit of time, for now, server EPG is working, and partial EPG files are up, but they are going to be constantly refreshed as we test the new grabber throughout the day.

ATM I'm using the ch.number as the reference
to synchronize the channel name between your epg and the iptv list

but if you have found a different way to solve the ch.name issue
then the ch.numbers won't be needed anymore

keep up the good work boss :)

@tuxen

I found an old iptv list which contains all the channels you mentioned with the proper ch id
but the issue hasn't been solved yet since there are still so many channels left with unmatched proper ch ids

and I am not interested to fix all those misinformed channel manually
unless if I could have the proper table :D

here is the comparison channel list:

UPDATE:

Thanks to psycon, now I've already had the conversion table for all the channel name
Code:
http://pastebin.com/raw/5y2uvNE3

But a temporary epg won't be needed anymore
it seems that (almost) all the channel names have been fixed in the latest epg update
