yes
So this is kind of weird. I plugged my laptop into a hdmi port on my tv. When I did this, I noticed it started messing with my Vixo2 box. At the time I was still on the hdmi port for the vixo2 and it made the screen go blank. When I went to check the laptop connection it was fine. Went back over to the Vixo2 and nothing. So I shut down the laptop and unplugged the hdmi. Went back to the vixo2 and still nothing. I unplugged it ...waited...plugged it back in. Still nothing. I swapped out the hdmi cord for another one...tried that...nothing. Unplugged the box...let it sit for a day...still nothing. Then I started reading...did the factory reset..left the hdmi plugged in...unplugged the box...held the pin while putting the power cord back in...waited another 30 seconds...let it go. Nothing. Took the damn thing to another tv...nothing...I've been buggering with the box on and off now for days...one thing I did notice is when I plug the hdmi cord in the tv reacts to the connection...just nothing happens. ....so here I am. How the heck did my laptop brick my box?? Any ideas?

use them hdmi ports on that vixo2 box, the front ports... it works like a media player for attached devices.
Okay, connect to any other device and that vixo 2 will work again thru that other device.. NExt is to try a HDMI Switch with that vixo2, then it may work.. I seen same here, a time ago.

What I am trying to say is that the vixo2 will act as a media center if you let it.
What button did you depress...

Okay, so I attached another device to the avov through the available port...it worked to start up "that" device. The avov...still won't start up when I navigate to it's "on" button. You asked what button I depressed....the little itty bitty one with a paper clip...on the back of the box. I'll go and buy and switch today and see if that helps...

could be just the power adaptor. If you have another handy with same specs, try that.
Or at your local new and used store sometimes you can find them.

But if the vixo2 powers up another device thru the HDMI front port, seems that it is getting power.

When you connected that other device, did you use its own power or did you leave the power disconnected. ?

That HDMI cable will also power up the other device.

ANd also make sure that the correct device is chossen on the remote when trying to power up the Vixo2, and not either of the front HDMI ports

I assumed because it has lights working...(all three on the front) that it has power but who knows...may be not enough power. I left the "other " device plugged in...so ......I'll give your advice a try and let you know. Hope it's just a simple power cord....:)

I've tried all that Marley. Over and over...still nothing shows up on the screen. Looks like the box is on...blue light in the middle...nothing boots.

I added another device through the HDMI (front ports) left the power unplugged on it and tried to power it up with the Vixo2...nothing happened. I could see a red light on the "other" device but that was it. Would not turn on. I've been out looking for another power cord...good luck on that hahaha...Guy at the electronic store said that it was a special adapter. Nothing at the thrift stores here would fit. Not common. May have to order it online somewhere...or just give up. I just liked the box..never had any problems with it.

vixo2 is a good box, yea. I liked it and loved the look of it too.

The one I have , when I first got it, I could not get it to work. It powered on but never a pic on the TV screen, nothing. I talked to avov, they told me to try all the fixes, like the HDMI cord , power adaptor and etc.. Then when all failed I sent it back to them at their request.
They tested it and sent it back to me. Told me nothing was wrong with it.

I then at that time had set up another TV in another room, and I connected the Vixo2 to that TV and presto, it worked fine. Took it back to original TV that it did not work on and it still never worked on that TV.
I had an HDMI Switch handy and used that and then the vixo2 also worked on that TV.

HDMI compatibility are real issues, but certain TVs seem to make a difference (or maybe just this one TV, its an Seiki 24" LE-24G90)
The HDMI can carry the Power and internet connection too with certain applications. Them cables are more complex then their outer appearance. I know you checked and re-cehecked, have you taken it to another TV or was it always working before on that same TV before ?

I have a Hisense 40" HDTV and yes I took it to a small Phillips just to check it out. I never had a problem til I plugged the laptop into the tv. It actually happened the first time I plugged it in but I was able to get it going again. Just unplugged and plugged back in. Stupid me did it a 2nd time not actually believing the laptop messed with it. Same thing happened but this time I could not get it to go again. I actually left it on while I had the laptop plugged in..probably an hour or so...then when I checked it...I still don't actually get how the laptop interfered with it.

My last ditch effort is to try and find another power cord for it. I've got 2 cheap boxes...but they suck....lol...never knew how good it was til it wasn't! If I find a cord I will report back...see if it does the trick. Thanks for all the help it is really appreciated....same goes to Marley and Lowteck! Thank you for taking the time.

I dont think thats true that like shooting you company now kodi may have stuff come out on it like
17.1 to 17.3 what i found out sometime box maker fixes one thing and makes two other things wrong i still say Dreamlink and Avov are best for price oh i forgot to ask what Firmware do supplier get that we don't
