Hey all,

I have a MAG 254. My Internet connection is 15M. In the days I average around 15M download, and about 10M to 12M download at nights.

What I find is that every day the service works flausly but the minute the time touches evening, the service in unwatchable. This is because it freezes every 30/ seconds or so.

Is there any way to fix this or this is just how the service operates at nights.

I played with the buffer settings and haven't seen much freezing since as a general rule. Sometimes I see that but no consistent time it occurs so chalk that up to them working on stuff. I have my buffer set for 5000 milliseconds on the embedded portal. That said, I will repeat this again, it is not the speed. Son in law has 50 meg constant. I have 6. He has problems at times. He lives in the city so I can imagine the local switching servers get busy and drop packets during heavy loads. I live in the country and less than 3 miles from the switching center. Also have new wiring from house to service box.

So if it were me, if the buffer settings don't help, call your provider and tell them the service stinks. There should be no charge for them to check it out. That's exactly how I got my new connection.
Have a great day and hope this helps.

I am trying the buffer tweaking

Hi, New member here, also new to IPTV and looking for some advice from people with a bit more knowledge than me.
I had a look through the forum but couldn't see anything similar to my problem which is buffering.
I did find several threads about it but I think my problem is slightly different to anything I have seen.

Ok, problem is
MAG254 (NEW) had it about 10 days and can barely watch anything even sd
When I do a speed test on my laptops it has been consistently between 6 and 9 meg and my ping is low 40s
which by all accounts should be fine.
But when I do a speed test on my MAG254 all I get is around 1mg (sometimes less )
It is hard wired to router and I have tried 4 different cables with no change to readings, in fact if I use the same
cable to my laptop I get 6 to 9 mg.

Is there a setting wrong somewhere in the MAG or does anyone know what else could be causing the issue?

Grateful for any advice as right now the box is less than useless.

=xbmcbg;48461]What is the unit of measure of the Internet - mg, and 40 seconds Ping ???
Do you have any idea of what you write????[/

I think its pretty obvious I was saying I had 6 to 9 MEG speed at laptop with a ping in the low 40s (as in 41,42,43, I never said seconds) and my speed at the Mag was under 1 MEG

If that wasn't obvious to you then its unlikely you can be of assistance.

The freezing started being bad this weekend,I have made donations at 2 different sites and one a big freezing problem and still does, the other one ran good until today. I don't want to name the other site. This isn't meant to say wich is better but just that i think NFPS must be working on something so no need to change a bunch of settings, just wait for the storm to pass.Nfps worked great until a week or so ago. I'm pretty confident that they should get it straightened out soon...Keep up the good work guys.
Thanks

Figured i was the only one that had a lot of running slow or not working at all. The image freezes or never loads. So possibly my mag 254 iptv box is okay is just fine. I thought it was me and my settings. The channels were playing ok today but as the day progressed they were running slow or not working at all. The image freezes or never loads. HJGYUIO
