The Alabama-based United Packers, LLC, and the Coca-Cola company voluntarily recalled 1557 cases of several 12-ounce products.
The recall was issued on Nov. 6 but was not widely announced to consumers.
The recall was out of an abundance of caution following reports of “potential foreign material” contaminating 12-ounce Diet Coke, Fanta Orange, and Sprite products.
According to the FDA, Diet Coke cans accounted for approximately 25% of the recalled products.
The recalled cases were shipped from Alabama to distribution sites in Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Not really anything new from these companies. Pepsi back in 2011 was accused of , ummm well, you can read the quote below.

'A low-calorie soda from Pepsi, which the company is creating with the help of the biotech company Senomyx (SNMX) was focus with numerous anti-abortion groups who started a boycott of Pepsi products because they say Senomyx, which develops new ingredients intended to enhance sweetness and other flavors, has done so using embryonic kidney cells that were originally taken from .. (wait for it, wait for it) .... an aborted baby'.

I know that at the time it was only an accusation due to Pepsi's association with Senomyx and I don't know the follow up on this.

Other companys that had been working with Senomyx at the time (2011).
-Kraft (KFT)
-Nestle (NESN)
-Solae
-Firmen**

And in 2021 Pepsi and Coke reluctantly changed their formula or were to be forced to add a 'MAY CAUSE CANCER' warning label.

'In yet another reason to avoid all soft drinks like the plague it appears that Pepsi’ caramel colouring contains a trace amount of carcinogen.
But is ok – it apparently only affects rats.
The chemical is 4-methylimidazole, or 4-MEI, which can form during the cooking process and, as a result, may be found in trace amounts in many foods.
In March, Pepsi and Coca-Cola both said they would adjust their formulas in the US after California passed a law mandating drinks containing a certain level of carcinogens come with a cancer warning label'.

Sorry guys for the bad news, but we been in the heap of chit for quite some time now :(
