Each time I reset Mac address from Mag 254 to blank so it will play m3u playlist and later when I decide it to change back Mac address for Mag 254 all
my Favorites are erased.

This is annoying why can't they save the favorites on server when you change to use m3u PLaylist and then back to your Mac address for Mag 254 ?

Thanks

Arrange Order of Favourite channels on Mag 254

How come when I arrange favorite channels in a particular order and I exit it.

When I open up again it is in numerical order all the time.

Isn't there a way to save the list in the particular order you want it to be saved ?

Is that a bug in the 14r firmware ? Because in 10r firmware wish I used before it never happened.

Thanks

favourites on the Mag and MAC application would not be something the server is involved in.
Unless a channel has been removed from server or possibly a channel move, but if your whole favs are disrupted then that is not it.

Try that r16 , as mentioned in other thread.

Actually the favourites and channels are stored on the server, so when you do a Reset you will always loose your favourites and the channel list is updated. You can consider the STB as a remote control, when you tell it to go up a channel you are sending a signal over the internet to go up a channel at the server. Same when you punch in a channel number, you are telling the server to go to that number.... it's like we all have out own independant server. That is why the favourites are messed up, they are not stored in the box but on the server and it needs to be sorted out at the other end. This applies to the Mag's, not sure about the other stb's as this is all I have.

Just updated to r16. The channels still changed back to numerical order after I exited changing to the order I wanted. Is everybody experiencing this ?
So is this a server problem or firmware problem ? Maybe it is due to the new server upgrade ?
You think if I could downgrade it back to r10 this won't be a problem because that is what I used before and it works.
Anybody know where I can downgrade back to r10 ?
Is there a place where we could downgrade to earlier versions ?

Thanks

IMHO favorites should be stored and saved in internal memory of our Mag boxes not on the server to mess things up.

I looked in my tickle trunk and it was not there :(

See if you can find any archived files at the wiki infomir website. If there are archives, you may find that r10
That website's address is posted in the Sticky threads.

The r14 can still be updated from your Mag itself

But as juan_vale is saying, it will not matter at present, which file version is on there.
It needs to be done at server end... I see now.

And thnx info juan_vale :)

So what you guys are trying to say is-
Channels are sorted by the server in numerical order regardless of what order you arranged the favorite channels to appear and exited to save it that way?
If you later enter favorites category channel favorites are always in numerical order not the order which you arranged it to be ?
I just wanted to know that it is not a bug in the firmware, but in the server that is causing this ?
So it will happen regardless of what firmware version we are using, right ?
So is Papiao going to get this problem fixed on the server, so we could arrange the order of the favorite channels and save it how we like it was before the upgrade or just leave all the channels in numerical order ? I won't need to find firmware which can sort favorite channels the way I want it to be cause I won't find it.

Thanks

Before the recent server changes the order you had selected the favorites was respected by the server, hence the blue button function to move a channel in your list, but after the changes there seems to be a bug in the firmware, I get channels appearing and disappearing in my favorites list.

I also have a problem moving from one channel to another when I'm in the main list, it will play the newly selected channel but the list stays where it was, I assume it's part of the same problem.

I think this is a problem that Papiao should fix on their server. It worked before the server upgrade. Why it not work after the server upgrade ?

I'm sure they will get fixed, plant your problems to them in a e-mail so they know there is a problem, the Mods here can only do so much... and they do a lot for us.

Have a good day...

I already did e-mail Papiao, but did not get a reply back. Maybe if more people like us who has this kind problems with Favorite Channels on Mag 254 boxes, etc., e-mail them [email protected] to let them know about this.

Zhong to put more weight on this problem. They will get the message(s) and fix it on their server, so what we do would be saved on their server when we exit and come back into the favorite channels.

Thanks

Zhong
