TV Series based on a collective of Stephen King's work.
Premiered on Hulu on July 25, 2018
Staring: André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy, Scott Glenn and Sissy Spacek.

Castle Rock is the name of a fictional town from a number of King's novels, novellas, and short stories.
Shown below are the works with Castle Rock as the town setting.
-The Dead Zone
-Cujo
-The Body (novella)
-Uncle Otto's Truck (short)
-Mrs. Todd's Shortcut (short)
-The Dark Half
-The Sun Dog (novella)
-Needful Things
-It Grows on You (short)
-Premium Harmony (short)
-Drunken Fireworks (novella)
-Gwendy's Button Box (novella)
-Elevation (novella)
-The Mist
Many other stories from King have mention of Castle Rock as well.

The series is not based any one particular story, but instead is a new story but with many ties to everything Stephen King and Castle Rock.
In fact even The Shining and other stories not set in Castle Rock are tied in as well. For example the girl Jackie, Molly's assistant, who's last name is Torrence. Jack Torrance was the main character in The Shining and the Overlook Hotel.
Jackie does refer to an Uncle who killed his family with an axe, and at the end of episode 10 she is shown working on a book entitled 'Overlooked'.... And she did kill that guy with an axe !

The character played by Bill Skarsgård, know as The Kid or John Doe is interesting in the fact that Bill Skarsgård also played the evil clown Penny Wise in the recent remake of Stephen King's IT
Remember in that movie, Penny Wise would reappear every 27 years. The interesting part is that the John Doe character in this new series was locked up in a cage by the warden of Shawshank Prison for 27 years.
Oh yea, Shawshank Prison plays a big role in this TV Series too (another famous Stephen King novel and Movie) :)

If you are a Stephen King fan you will really enjoy this Series if for anything, for the easter eggs and references to Stephen King's novels found thru out the series.
Sissy Spacek stars in this too and she played in a little movie some years ago entitled Carrie (Stephen King's first novel made into a movie).
Melanie Lynskey also stars and she had a part in Stephen King's Rose Red, where she played the sister of an extraordinary gifted young girl. Melaine's character in Castle Rock is also 'gifted'.
Scott Glen plays the character of a retired Sheriff Alan Pangborn, who was the Sherriff in many of King's Castle Rock stories.

I just finished watching the complete 10 episodes of season one.
It can be hard to follow or at least hard to fathom what is coming next or what came before, but that is part of the fun with this series.
I loved it.
And again, the references made and found thru out all 10 episodes are fantastically fun to see and follow.

Can't wait for season 2 and maybe find out more about our John Doe character and the ties that may be with Penny Wise.... episode 10 did show more hints :)
Or maybe we will be taken to the Overlook Hotel with Jackie
No one is saying anything, we will just have to wait and see :)

I want to post all the easter eggs and references I saw thru out this season one, but that would spoil all the fun :)
