yes i do
I know. I read the other thread so don't tell me to go read that one.

First, my donation was coming due. I looked at my MAG254 and it read YOUR STB IS BLOCKED by provider. I kinda ignored it, turned the damned thing off for a couple days while I had renew my donation. So, when I renewed the donation, I marked in the MAC. I have it as a text file. It is absolutely correct. Okay, but I took care of business and now all my donation is good for a year. So now I plugged the MAG254 back in. It does not have blocked message. Instead, I now get blue barber pole forever.

I went back online and put 00 for the last 2 digits of the MAC and saved it. BIG MISTAKE. That had me screwed up for a whole day. No matter what I did, I could not get the correct last 2 digits back in there. It kept returning with :00. I sent the rocket guys an email. Yesterday, I got back in and it finally let me put the correct last 2 digits in. Don't know what happened there but okay. It was changed and was now back to what it should be. I should be good to go. Wrong. Blue barber pole.

My next thing was to check all of my settings. They are all correct. I rechecked the MAC. It is correct.

I looked at my software. I needed to update to the newest version. So I did. It updated perfectly. That did not help.

Needless to say, I have rebooted everything and that did not help.

Okay. Now I am stuck. What to try next?

They are doing something. The quality has been crap all day on us channels but good on others. Some channels not working one minute then fine the next. Today I had the blue barber pole a couple times when I turned the thing on. The news channels are so low resolution they can't be watched at times. So Just tried from time to time and got it to load. I believe they are working on the system and that is why things are so erratic at the moment. JMHO. Have a great day!

Thank you for your help. This has been a real learning experience. I got advice to reboot my whole network from a mod so I did that one more time. Whole family howled a lot at me but I did it. That did not help either. I was stuck. I could see it on my network, but it was like it had no internet. All I got was barber pole. Then...

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! In frustration, I pulled the D-Link USB wireless adapter that had been working just fine until now. I ran a 50ft ethernet cable to it and WALLAH! It started right up! Oh please shoot me! It was the $*%$%^ wireless adapter.

And you are right. Some channels are real crappy and some are real good. Good you told me about the news channels. I thought that my MAG254 was wonky. It is fine. I went to another channel after putzing with my video settings for a half hour. Oh dopey me. My settings were fine.

I post this all to hopefully help others find same issues. My wife wonders why I am a crazy man. Maybe it is crap like this that is making me crazy. Damned USB wireless.
