Best quotes

This is my quote of the day today after a booze filled Xmas eve.
''My wife was so sick this morning that I had to carry her to the kitchen to make breakfast! '' ;)

Winston and Lady Astor were never very close friends.

“Lady Nancy Astor: Winston, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea.

Churchill: Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it.”

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of the evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" - Dirty Harry

After failing miserably on an English test, when asked by his second grade teacher if he knew anything ?

Yogi Bera or Casey Stengal (i forget who said that)

More Yogi

Nobody eats in NY resraunts anymore they are always too crowded.

they have a name for them.
Called them 'Yogi-ism'

Then there is Stengel-ize.
Casey Stengel was player and then manager back in the 20's. He was Yogi's manager and said Yogi was the best man he had.
Casey was known later in his life for some off beat things he said.

This isn't a spoken quote, but get a load of this...
You ever hear the term, 'giving the bird' ? (meaning flipping you off, or etc.. many versions of it).

The origin of giving you the bird....

-In 1919, Casey Stengel of the Pittsburgh Pirates was being taunted mercilessly by fans of the Brooklyn Dodgers, his old team.
Somehow Casey got hold of a sparrow during the game. With the bird tucked gently beneath his cap, Casey strutted to the plate amidst a chorus of boos and catcalls. He turned to the crowd, tipped his hat and gave the audience the bird.
