After updating from r10 to r12 I noticed the date at the top of the Rocket portal home page shows Friday, December 31, 1999 and the time is off by 1 hr 10 mins. Brings back memories of Y2K, lol.

I've checked the general portal set at pool.ntp.org and the location for my time zone set correctly in both inner and outer portals. Any help appreciated.

if not on the list, blank the field and enter it with keyboard...

I tried but can't do it, you can only select from the lists. The keyboard does not allow editing in the fields.

My current settings:

Inner Portal
Time Zone: America/Chicago
NTP Server: time.nist.gov

Outer Portal
Country: United States of America
City: Abbeville
Time Zone: America/Chicago

Home Page
Date on top: Friday, December 31, 1999 6:05 PM (Real local time is 7:23 AM)
Weather: Abbeville

There's got to be a solution. Please help.

Listen man I've tried and tried and can't type a new country. In any event I can't see why the settings I have above should not give a correct date no matter where one is physically located in the world. I've even reloaded the r12 and still the same result. The channels work fine. It had the correct date/time before the upgrade.

Ultimately, what matters are the date and time provided that the recording and timeshift are not allowed?

You'r right, it really doesn't matter since all is working well. for the time being. Just bugs me that there's something wrong with my Mag and nobody else's that may get worse and I can't figure out the cause, whether at my end, software or hardware or the server end.

Just in case if you have the same problem as me then try this.
After doing some reading I found that if you change the server from pool.ntp.org to time.nist.gov and reboot the box and it will show the correct date and time to your setting.
Worked for me.
