I bought 2 boxes both giving trouble of freezing the picture / buffering, in the morning the by using the remote the box red light comes on but tv has no display. if I reboot by using the small button on back the unit comes on and works.

This morning kept freezing and tried the button at the back but no effect so I pulled the plug at back to do hard resent. once i plugged it back on I get a black screen " Android System recovery"" have attached a picture.

Any help will be appreciated.
 
The picture froze so I used the remote to go back and turned of the unit. than using the remote turned it back on but same problem. Than I used switched off the unit but pressing the button on the back and turned it on but live TV plays for awhile than picture freeze again so I unplugged the unit to do a hard reset. When I plugged back the unit and i got to where I am.

How do I do Factory data reset !
 
with mouse when on that picture scroll down to that Factory data reset and hit ok try that but i got to sever setting and high lite factory or data reset and let it do its thing both way should bring box back waiting on that update thing you said
 
Yea this 1.0.6 update do think so but they are looking into this send a ticket to them I would and they will take care of you

I had the same problem with a Nexus tablet was never able to get it to recover. Had to send it back to Google for replacement.
I do what wickedjoker recommended, don't waste your time. Send it back
 
I have emailed support 5 times and reported a bug once. I got an automated response but no one contacted me as the email stated they would. And this 1.0.6 update, I didn't even get an automated response. My picture is not good, no setting for 4k, no guide, and now it's a brick.
 
just so i got this right all this came after the update to 1.0.6 right or am i wrong

As of 6/16 build was 1.0.5. so i dont know if it updated by itself and got messed up. All I did was reboot as picture was freezing on live tv. I have opened a ticket june 20 but except for a acknowledgment no response. Have tried to call their office in CA 1-855-449-2968 (AVOV) but that number does not accept any calls. have also emailed [email protected] yesterday but no response.

I had another issue with the unit before this fiasco, after a few hours of unit being off or when I would turn on the unit in the morning using the remote there was no picture I had to turn off and on using the button at the back and than it would work fine. I opened a ticket about that problem and they eventually responded to change the HDMI cable, which I did but to no effect. I replied to that msg but no response. so i gave up.

Eventually by using the button last Saturday the unit got messed up or it updated to 1.0.6 and now its a brick.

I have another 4K box wch still has this problem of turning on with a remote. but on the other hand my 3rd unit a Avov tvonline+ Red box works flawlessly.

Avov has put out a product when they cant handle Tech support.

have spent $3/400 on this plus all this headache and Frustration, thinking of going back to cable TV and pay the $40 more per month
