Director: Alex Lehmann
Writers: Chris Dowling and Alex Lehmann
Starring: Thomas Haden Church as Lloyd and Dianna Agron as Maggie
Haden Church is another favorite actor of mine
Birth name --> Thomas Richard McMillen. He changed it to his step father's name 'Quesada' but he found in the 'business' that name was hard to remember or pronounce so he went with Haden Church instead.
"Maggie tracks down her estranged and reclusive father Lloyd; together they attempt to make first contact."
Lloyd is a reclusive man living his life in a cabin in the woods, his own cabin and land, who has been trying to contact alien life from other worlds for some time. He is not a stupid man and the title 'Acidman" is not him, he smokes a bit of weed but that's about it.
Maggie, his daughter, has traveled a great distance to find her father. She does know about Lloyd's ideals and theories, but this movie is not really about that and not really about aliens either.
The best thing about this movie unlike other movies with a similar plot, is that Maggie is not there to 'fix' her father (if indeed he even needs fixing) ...
but she is there to support him and re-establish the closeness they once had --> First Contact
Great movie about kinship and the love between a parent and child.
