Channel issues ALL 99% of the channels from #78 through #369 are either freezing so badly that they are unwatchable or just dead. This needs MUCH attention.

I can come out of my box (mag254) via the composite port and go into a set top dvd recorder, but the quality just plain sucks so I do not use it.

firt, we do not discuss other services here, but if you want something that is fairly stable, I would get a stand alone set top box like a Mag254 or one of the other boxes. I have used one for near 2 years and have only minimal issues.

On most Lynksys routers you can set fixed ip address for each unit. Therefor just set a fixed IP address for your Mag254 using the mac address for locating it on the DHCP table and the set it up as a fixed IP. Then you should be able to move it any issues. I hope you are using separate...

It would help if you would say what kind of box you are using. Just so you know, MAC address are not locked to IP address, they are locked to the equipment you are using. Without knowing you box type, I would suggest that you set you box to a fixed IP address from your router. That way you...

I do not think it is a security issue. Are you using the same code for each unit? If so you would do better to have a code for each unit, as the MAC Addy is not the same for each unit.

You might get a response by posting in the MAG 254 section as it sounds like a Mag issue. But everything seems to be running ok.
